The question
We compare four origins on the same cost basis, and the answer is not always abroad. Sometimes the cheapest one is already here. The calculator places your four on this same ruler.

The problem
imports for the wrong reason
They place the order celebrating a 30% gap, then discover the duties, the freight, the customs charges spread across the lot and the capital frozen in the minimum order. The quoted price was never the cost.
quits at the wrong moment
They add up everything leaving the bank account, take fright and give up. They forget that much of that tax comes back as credit under their tax regime. They stop buying better because of half a calculation.
Between those two extremes sits a calculation almost nobody performs: price net of tax credit, plus capital tied up in the lot, plus the risk premium of each origin. That is the number that decides, and it is the number the Purchasing Calculator returns.
The four origins
01
Wins when your volume sustains the lot, the NCM classification carries tariff preference and the lead time fits your planning.
02
Wins when the price gap is wide enough to pay full import duty and still leave something after the risk premium.
03
Wins when the lot is small, the lead time is short or the item changes specification often.
04
Wins when your volume does not dilute the fixed cost of a shipment, but theirs already does.

Manifesto
Import calculators exist. They all answer the same question: how much does it cost to bring it in. Ours answers a different one — where to buy. They are not the same question, and whoever confuses the two decides on factory price, the only number every origin shows and the only one that decides nothing.
The same part, at the same price, arrives at a different cost depending on your tax regime and on whether the country of origin has a trade agreement with Brazil. Under Lucro Real, import PIS and COFINS come back as credit; under Lucro Presumido they do not; under Simples nothing does. A trade agreement changes the import duty, which is the single largest lever in the calculation. And import ICMS is built on itself, over a base that already includes every other tax. None of this appears in a supplier’s quote.
The third factor is the least discussed and the most expensive: risk. Two origins at the same price do not cost the same, because the chance of a supply failing — and what practical recourse is left when it does — is not the same. That is why each origin enters our calculation with a multiplier on net cost. It is not pessimism: it is the market price of carrying that risk, and someone always pays it. The difference is whether it sat in the spreadsheet or turned up as a surprise the following quarter.
We wrote that engine because we are two things at once. A purchasing operation that has imported for years, and a technology house. The second is not marketing: no tool on the market crossed tax rules, trade agreements and origin risk, so we built our own. It decides our group’s purchases before it decides yours.
And it is out of respect for the calculation that it does not come out on this screen. A sourcing number depends on the NCM validated by a person, on the administrative treatment of the item, on quoted freight and on a qualified supplier — four things no form gathers on its own. Spitting out a figure without them would be easier, more impressive and less honest. What the calculator delivers here are the factors, read for your case. The calculation we close with you, with the numbers on the table.

A NCM do item e as licenças e anuências que a classificação exige.
Logística
O modal, o AFRMM e a despesa aduaneira rateada no lote.
A alternativa nacional
O fabricante brasileiro e o importador nacional — as duas origens que quase ninguém cota antes de importar.
A tese
Our services
01
A survey of what you buy, in what volume, at what cost today, under which technical and tax classification. Origins compared on the same basis. It ends with an answer, and that answer may be do not import.
02
Only happens if importing makes sense. Sourcing, qualification and validation of the foreign supplier, negotiation, specification, samples and inspection.
03
Currency, international freight, insurance, documentation, DUIMP filing, taxes, customs clearance and domestic logistics to your door. You receive goods, not a process.
Our services
Every phase has a defined deliverable. You hire one, see what you got, and only then decide on the next — none of them obliges the one that follows.

about us
About us
Ponte was not born from a business plan. It was born from a purchasing pain.
We are part of a Brazilian machinery and equipment group. For years we imported for our own consumption: parts, components and equipment that had to arrive on time, to specification and at a cost that closed the account at the far end. We were nobody’s supplier in this matter. We were the buyer.
Over time we developed two own brands abroad and began importing products we now resell under other group brands. Each of those brands exists because a purchase would not close the way things stood. The competence came from there — from shipments, not from a course.
The road here was expensive, and it is honest to say how. We hired consultants who delivered a report and handed the decision back to our desk. We changed customs brokers more than once before understanding that speed at clearance is not the same thing as competence in classification. We bought technology that promised tracking and delivered an outdated spreadsheet. We paid storage over a documentation mismatch that had been avoidable weeks earlier. We found out, late, that a minimum order is price in disguise and that tied-up capital charges interest.
About us

Mission
To bring the most transparency possible to a market that got used to deciding in the dark.
Vision
To be Brazilian industry’s first question before closing a recurring purchase, instead of the last resort after a shipment went wrong.
Values
Every assumption that moves the result appears on screen and can be changed. A number with no calculation behind it cannot be argued with — and what cannot be argued with should not decide a purchase.
When the Brazilian manufacturer or the Brazilian importer wins, that is what the calculator says. Losing an import costs less than losing the trust of the person who bought.
A country with no agreement, a new supplier, a lot covering four years of consumption: each enters the calculation with a written percentage and the criterion beside it. Risk treated as zero comes back later, on the invoice.
NCM, administrative treatment and licensing pass through a person before becoming a decision. The tool speeds up the calculation; it does not sign off on it.
Currency, freight, insurance, documentation, tax and clearance are our problem. What reaches the client is the merchandise at their address.
The same tool and the same people decide the group’s purchases. If it were not good enough for ours, it would not be for sale.
Why Ponte
Licence
The group company that executes the operations works with no semiannual value ceiling. The size of your shipment does not run into a licensing limit.
Track record
The group developed its own brands overseas and imports products it resells under other group brands. The competence came from running the business, not from selling a service.
Tool
The calculation you just ran is the calculation the group runs before deciding where to buy. It is not a demo version.

The right question is where to buy
Run the calculator with your own numbers, see the indicators for all four origins and bring your case to the conversation. If the answer is to keep buying from your current supplier, we will say that too.
Would you rather we start the conversation? Leave your details beside this, or write directly to contato@ponteinteligente.com.
